Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups water
- 5 mint leaves
- 1/2 cup lime juice
Directions
- Combine the water, mint leaves, and sugar in a medium saucepan. Set it over medium high heat and stir until the sugar disappears into the liquid. Let the mixture come up to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer it for 5 minutes.
- Let the syrup cool a bit, then mix in the lime juice. Pour everything into a glass baking dish and move it to the freezer.
- About every hour, drag a fork through the mixture to break it into icy flakes. Repeat until it is fully frozen and granular, about three and a half hours.
- If you prefer, you can make the simple syrup without using the stove. For those directions, see here.
