movers are here!

September 29th, 2011

Finally!  As much fun as it is to do the whole camping-in-an-empty-apartment thing, we were all getting a little sick of the air mattress.

So far everything seems to be intact, so as we spend the rest of the day sorting through everything and (hopefully) getting set up, I’m posting a few snapshots from the last week!

{just the bare beauty essentials for a week or two}

{quick, crucial stop at Dylan’s Candy Bar in the Galleria for me}

{trying on a vintage bottega veneta dress at a consignment store — loved the back!}

{grocery stores here are freaking insane}

{healthy-ish veggie pizza without cheese for brunch this weekend}

{also insane (but fun): the amount of texas memorabilia in all shapes and sizes, even for pooches!}

{coco taking her last nap on the air mattress before our real bed gets set up again!}

    What are the grocery stores like in NYC? Are they different than a typical one? Guess I have never actually noticed one in NY!

    They’re so much smaller!  And the inventory is so limited, and they’re more crowded!  The ones here are ginormous!

    Ohh the changes from NYC to nearly anywhere else. I know I’ve already said it, but you will love love Texas. Seeing these few snapshots (like the one of TX memorabilia) makes me miss it there. Texans are some of the most spirit-filled, passionate people I know, about their state, sports, and all!

    So happy to hear your things have arrived. It’s daunting and exciting to move to a new city.

    I’m really looking forward to seeing Texas through your eyes Katy because I’ve never been there before.

    Randall’s! Crazy!! I prefer HEB, but it does tend to be more expensive. I love it though…

    I recently moved from Dallas to New York so I know the feeling of moving away from your comfort zone.  My husband is from Houston so we go there often.  I am sure you will love this adventure!  Enjoy the warm winter while I am freezing in New York! 🙂
