Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp salted butter
- 3 Tbsp packed light-brown sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 Tbsp whisked egg
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup red and green M&Ms
- 1/2 tsp Christmas jimmies, optional
Directions
- Set the oven to 350 degrees. Cover a half or quarter sheet baking pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Put the butter in a microwave-safe mixing bowl. Microwave it until it is roughly 2/3 melted, about 20 seconds, then take it out and stir until the rest melts.
- Add the brown sugar, salt, 1 tbsp egg, vanilla, flour and baking soda to the melted butter. Stir everything together with a spoon or rubber spatula until the dough is evenly mixed.
- Fold in about 3/4 of the M&Ms. On the prepared baking sheet, press the dough into a disk about 3 1/2-inches wide. Scatter the remaining 1/4 of the M&Ms on top, along with the sprinkles if you are using them.
- Bake in the heated oven for 11 – 14 minutes, just until the edges turn lightly golden brown and the center still looks a little underdone.
- Enjoy it warm, or let it cool on a wire rack before transferring it to an airtight container.
- For the 1 Tbsp egg, crack the egg into a small bowl and whisk until the yolk and white are combined, then measure out 1 Tbsp. Save the rest for something else.
- A 1.77 oz tube of red and green Mini M&Ms can also be used; it equals 1/4 cup.
