Ingredients
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp orange extract
- 1 Tbsp orange zest
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda and salt with a whisk, then put the bowl aside.
- Using an electric mixer, beat the butter with the granulated sugar and brown sugar until the mixture looks pale and airy, about 3-4 minutes. Add the eggs 1 at a time, mixing after each goes in.
- Blend in the orange zest along with the vanilla and orange extracts. Add the dry ingredients gradually, mixing just until the dough comes together. Fold in the milk chocolate chips and semi-sweet chocolate chips with a gentle hand.
- Scoop heaping tablespoonfuls of dough onto a buttered cookie sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes, then leave the cookies on the cookie sheet for a few minutes before moving them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
