paved paradise and put up a parking lot

November 9th, 2011

This weekend, one of my friends invited me over for a girls’ night, and I wanted to throw on a comfy outfit that would still look cute — so I guess this could be considered my version of sweatpants and a tee shirt.

But the fact is, this outfit is probably 90% as comfy as sweats, and a heck of a lot more fun. I’ve already documented my love of faux-fur vests, and it’s not letting up anytime soon. And I do want to emphasize the faux in faux fur!

I got this watch with a credit from Rue La La, marked down from $499 to $49 (yes, you read that right). But that’s not all — when the box arrived, it came with the retail price on the tag. A whopping $995! And I got it for $49. Unbelievable. I’ve been wearing it nonstop, just to celebrate!

Gifted Walter vest (via Rue La La), Levi’s jeans, Topshop shirt, gifted Invica watch (via Rue La La), Alexis Bittar bangle, C Wonder ring, Forever 21 earrings. Nailpolish: Gifted Estee Lauder Metallic Sage.

I’ve been wearing a similar version for my “casual” days as I too can’t get enough of faux fur vests!

Thank you SO much for speaking out against real fur!  Beside the horrible cruelty involved, it’s so unsustainable and damaging to the environment and other people.  I am going to paste on my Tumblr blog as I’ve been seeing other fashion bloggers post real fur.  Not necessary when technology can now produce amazing faux furs!

Amen to speaking out against wearing fur! Those videos are so horrific. I can’t even watch them in their entirety.

And this vest is beautiful! I love how feathery it looks.

I’m jealous of your sunny weather from my spot up here in rainy Vancouver!

Congrats on getting such a great deal on that fabulous watch!  Love the vest.  I’ve finally succumbed to the fur vest trend myself, and I’m soooo glad I did. 🙂

Couldn’t figure out what you were wearing on your head in the second photo… and then I realized it was your clutch. Duh.

Ha!  I was just holding my hands up to balance — but now that I look at the photo, it is a little bizarre!
