Ingredients
- 1 pound red grapes
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup granulated white sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 vanilla bean
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 1/8 teaspoon yellow mustard seeds
Directions
- Rinse the grapes, then pull them from the stems. Cut a thin slice from the stem end of each grape, and put the grapes aside.
- Combine the vinegar, water and sugar in a small saucepan. Set it over high heat and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Add the spices to the bottom of a quart jar.
- Use a funnel to transfer the trimmed grapes into the jar, layering them over the spices.
- Pour the hot vinegar mixture into the jar so it covers the grapes.
- Leave the grapes out until they have cooled. Cover the jar with a lid and move it to the refrigerator.
- Chill the pickled grapes for at least 24 hours before you serve them.
