Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons plain yogurt
3 tablespoons melted butter or ghee
1/4 cup warm water, plus more as needed
Directions
Preheat oven to 400°F . Grease a baking sheet with butter or ghee. In a large bowl, mix together the warm water, melted butter or ghee, yogurt, salt, baking soda, baking powder and sugar until combined. Gradually add in the flour and mix until a soft dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add more warm water 1 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached. Knead for 5 minutes on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into an oval shape about 1/4 inch thick. Place naan onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and puffy. Serve warm with your favorite curry dish!.
