Ingredients

1 sleeve of Saltine crackers

1 cup butter

1 cup light brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F . Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Place the Saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. In a medium saucepan, melt together the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Pour the mixture over the Saltine crackers, spreading evenly with a spatula or spoon. Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped nuts over the top of the crackers and press down lightly with your hands or a spatula to ensure they stick to the crackers. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly around edges. Remove from oven and let cool completely before breaking into pieces to serve.
