Cornbread Dressing With Sausage and Sage Recipe

Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup diced celery
8 ounces ground pork sausage
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
4 cups crumbled cornbread
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup chicken broth or stock
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions
Adjust oven racks to lower-middle and upper-middle positions. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Spread cornbread evenly over 2 rimmed baking sheets. Stagger trays on oven racks and bake until lightly toasted, about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
