Ingredients
2 pounds London broil steak
1 bottle stout beer
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups beef broth
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F . In a small bowl, mix together beef broth, salt and pepper, smoked paprika, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, garlic and onion. Set aside. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add London broil steak and brown on both sides for about 5 minutes per side. Transfer steak to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour stout beer into the skillet and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes or until reduced by half. Pour mixture over steak in baking dish. Cover with foil and bake in preheated oven for 1 hour or until steak is tender when pierced with a fork. Remove from oven and pour reserved broth mixture over steak in baking dish; cover with foil again and return to oven for an additional 30 minutes or until steak is very tender when pierced with a fork. Serve hot with your favorite sides!.
