Korean Fried Cauliflower

Ingredients

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 3/4 cup cold water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cornstarch and all-purpose flour.
  3. Dip each cauliflower floret into the mixture and coat evenly.
  4. Carefully place the coated cauliflower florets into the hot oil and fry for about 5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the cold water and remaining cornstarch until smooth. Slowly pour this mixture into the hot oil while stirring constantly with a wooden spoon or spatula until it thickens (about 1 minute). This will create a crispy coating on your fried cauliflower florets!
  6. Once all of your cauliflower is fried and coated in the sauce, serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce! Enjoy!
