Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups vegetable broth or water
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
3 tablespoons raisins or currants
2 tablespoons almond butter or peanut butter
2 teaspoons cocoa powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Remove the stems, seeds and ribs from the chile peppers. You might want to wear rubber gloves for this. Cover them with boiling water and weight them so they stay underwater. Leave to soak for 30 minutes while you prepare everything else.
