Ingredients
2 cups cooked chickpeas
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons freshly grated ginger
2 medium tomatoes, diced
1/4 cup tomato paste
Salt to taste
2 cups water
Freshly chopped cilantro leaves for garnish
Directions
Place the chickpeas in a medium bowl and cover with warm water by 2 inches. Let soak for 12 hours. Transfer soaked chickpeas and their liquid to a pressure cooker. Seal and heat over medium-low heat to low pressure. Cook until chickpeas easily break down, about 25 minutes after they come to pressure. Release pressure and set aside to cool.
