Strawberry-Rhubarb Crisp Recipe

Ingredients
4 cups fresh rhubarb, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Zest of one lemon
Juice of one lemon
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
Directions
Combine brown sugar, whole wheat flour, rolled oats, cinnamon, anise seed , five-spice powder, salt, and butter in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Mix on low speed to form a thick dough, about 5 minutes. Alternatively, this can be done by hand. Transfer to a zip-top bag and refrigerate until needed, up to 1 month.
