Ingredients
4 large egg whites
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
Directions
Adjust oven rack to upper-middle and lower-middle positions and preheat oven to 275 degrees F. Grease 3 round cake pans with 2 tablespoons butter. Dust with confectioners’ sugar and tap out excess. Line bottoms of pans with parchment paper rounds.
