2 teaspoons sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 package active dry yeast

1¼ cups warm water

, and 3 cups all-purpose flour In a large bowl, combine the warm water and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until the yeast is dissolved. Add in the olive oil, salt, sugar, and 2 cups of the flour. Stir until combined. Gradually add in the remaining cup of flour while stirring with a wooden spoon or your hands until a soft dough forms. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough into an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap or a damp towel. Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size. Punch down the dough to remove any air bubbles and knead again for 1 minute before using as desired .
