Ingredients

1 pound fresh okra

1/2 cup white vinegar

1/4 cup water

2 tablespoons sugar

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon celery seed

1 teaspoon mustard seed

1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric

Directions

Wash and trim the okra, then cut into 1/2-inch slices. In a small bowl, mix together the turmeric, mustard seed, celery seed, salt, sugar, water and vinegar until combined. Place the okra in a large jar or container with a lid. Pour the brine mixture over the okra and stir to combine. Seal the jar or container and place in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before serving. The pickled okra will keep for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
