Easy Honey Garlic Salmon

Ingredients

  • 4 wild caught salmon fillets
  • Salt and pepper,
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika )
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic,
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice, )
  • Lemon wedges

Directions

  1. Set an oven rack in the center of your oven, then preheat the oven to the broil/grill setting on medium heat. Sprinkle the salmon with salt, pepper, and paprika, and put it aside for the moment.
  2. Melt the butter in a skillet or pan over medium-high heat. Stir in the garlic and cook it for about a minute, just until it smells fragrant.
  3. Add the honey, water, and soy sauce to the pan, letting everything warm up and come together. Stir in the lemon juice so the sauce is well combined.
  4. Place the salmon fillets into the sauce in the pan, skin-side down if they have skin. Cook each fillet for 3-4 minutes, until golden, spooning the pan juices over the tops as they cook. Add salt and pepper to taste, if you’d like.
  5. If you want a stronger lemon flavor, tuck the lemon wedges around the salmon. Baste the salmon once more, then move the pan to the oven and broil/grill for another 5-6 minutes, until the tops are nicely charred and the salmon is cooked the way you like it.
  6. Spoon the sauce over the salmon to serve, and finish with a squeeze of lemon juice. Serve with steamed vegetables, over rice, or with a salad.
