Balloon Bowls
These playful chocolate cups are shaped over water-filled balloons, then filled with candy, chocolate, or whipped cream for an edible dessert vessel.
Prep 20 min · Total 35 min · Makes about 8 chocolate bowls

Ingredients
- 1 container microwavable milk chocolate candy melts
- 1 sheet Wax Paper
- 5 to 10 latex balloons
Directions
- Fasten the balloons to the faucet and add water until each one is half full. Tie them closed and put them aside.
- Prepare the microwavable chocolate candy melts according to the package directions. Pour the candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds, stirring the chocolate throughout so it does not scorch.
- Line a baking tray with wax paper.
- Add a spoonful of chocolate to the tray; this will become the bottom support for the balloon bowl.
- Lower one balloon into the melted chocolate, turning it so the coating is even on every side. Lift it out and set it onto the chocolate base on the baking tray.
- Continue the same process until every balloon has been covered in chocolate.
- Move the tray of chocolate-coated balloons to the fridge and chill until the shells are firm. This took 15 minutes.
- Take the balloons out of the fridge. Holding them over the sink, use a pin to make a very small hole in the neck of each balloon near the knot. Let the water drain out slowly into the sink.
- Fill the bowls with candy, chocolate, or whipped cream. Enjoy.
