simple pleasures

September 24th, 2012

After a whirlwind summer (and a fall that’s shaping up to be just as busy), I’ve been making a serious effort lately to enjoy the few minutes of downtime and the simple, amazing moments that it can be too easy to overlook. Whether it’s a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a moment of internet-free peace above the clouds, the finale of an amazing runway show, or our soon-to-be-finished swimming pool, there are so many amazing simple pleasures in my life right now, and I’m so incredibly grateful for them!

On a side note, the photo above is me cuddling with Coco first thing in the morning — no makeup, no styled hair, nothing but me and her. I’m not sure I would have felt comfortable posting a makeup-free photo at the beginning of the year, so it’s a HUGE testament to my love of the Simple Skincare products I’ve been using since January (especially the Refreshing Facial Wash Gel!) that I posted this! They’re kind to skin, VERY budget-friendly and totally awesome products that I recommend every chance I get.
