Slow Cooker Shredded Chicken
Tender chicken breasts cook low and slow until easy to shred for meal prep, sandwiches, tacos, salads, and quick weeknight dinners.

Ingredients
- Chicken breasts
- Juice
- Chicken breast
- Chicken
Directions
- Set the chicken breasts in the slow cooker, then add the seasonings and the liquid, if you’re using any. Put on the lid and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the meat pulls apart easily with a fork. If you’re cooking a smaller amount, check it earlier, since it will probably be done sooner.
- Lift the chicken out with tongs, then pull it apart with 2 forks or use the paddle attachment on a stand mixer. Use the shredded chicken right away, or pack it into ziplock bags or a sealed container for freezing.
- Frozen chicken can be used for large batches like this. As it cooks, it may release plenty of juice, especially if the chicken breasts are still a bit icy, which helps keep everything moist. If dryness is a concern, add a little liquid before cooking.
