It’s so hot here already, sometimes a little black dress feels almost like a rarity in the summer.  I love bright colors, and there’s nothing like a bold splash of color to make the heat a little more bearable.  But sophisticated black?  It’s funny how I tend to save it for those cooler days.

But the other night, this just seemed perfect (ninety-five degrees or not).  This little wisp of a dress was everything I love — easy, simple, and totally classic at the same time.  The perfect pairing was this beautiful, ladylike Brahmin purse, and my gorgeous silk Tadashi Shoji scarf!

Zara dress, gifted Brahmin purse, gifted Tadashi Shoji scarf, gifted Nannis bracelet.

Ok, Katy. Hand that purse over! My son and DIL were here in CA this week (he’s a NASCAR engineer and the race was near Napa, another awesome vacation though no beach.) She’s the one with similar taste to mine: we shopped in the city (SF) and an outlet place that had Prada, Kate Spade, Elie Tahari, and the like. Suffice it to say we did quite a bit of aerobic shopping. My other sis went but just didn’t have the fun we did. And then yesterday we hit four TJMaxx stores, my first time there.) Alas, no Celine bag like yours, sigh, but we managed to do enough damage. One silly question. I won the tank top you posted with Coco/Chanel in such a cute hoodie. They were unable to assist me in having one of the hoodies made for son and DIL’s lil dog who’s around the size of yours. Can you remember the company or is there a contact person? I’d love to have one made for, ahem, the dog’s b-day. Love your style, accessories, and have serious pool envy!

Of course!  The company is Whooptee: and the girl I worked with is Jorie, her email is jorie [at] (with an actual @ sign, I just changed it so she doesn’t get picked up by any spambots!)

I see that you guys are interested in finding shopping deals. Recently I have been using an application, Mavatar, which can be used on the iPad and web browsers. Mavatar is a simplified shopping experience, which automatically applies coupon discounts to the product you are interested in purchasing. I highly recommend this app- it’s super fun and easy to use. (where you can download it!)
