Spiced Apple Tater Tot Crisp with Honey Whipped Cream

Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen tater tots
  • 2 large apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Honey Whipped Cream:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Heat the oven to 375°F. Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick cooking spray, then put it aside.
  2. Stir the nutmeg, cinnamon, and brown sugar together in a small bowl, and keep that nearby.
  3. Add the diced apples to the prepared baking dish, then scatter the spiced sugar over them. Arrange the frozen tater tots on top and pour the melted butter over everything. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the top is crisp and nicely browned.
  4. As the crisp bakes, start the honey whipped cream. Add the heavy cream, honey, and vanilla extract to a medium bowl, or to a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. Beat on high speed.
