Ingredients
- 2 Tb unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 Tb all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp dried oregano
- 1 C milk
- 1/2 C Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Warm the butter in a small saucepan set over medium heat. Stir in the garlic and cook it for 30 seconds, then whisk in the flour, pepper, salt and oregano until everything is blended.
- Pour in the milk gradually, whisking as you go so the sauce stays smooth. Keep cooking, whisking now and then, until it thickens to the consistency you want. Take the pan off the heat and stir in the cheese until the sauce is smooth. Use it right away, or cover it and refrigerate it until you are ready to use it.
