Ingredients
- 4 cups of apples, peeled, cored and diced
- 2 cups of blackberries
- 1/2 cup of white sugar
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons of fresh thyme leaves
Directions
- Put the apples and blackberries into a large saucepan, then add the sugar and lemon juice. Stir everything together.
- Warm the pan over medium-high heat until the fruit mixture boils, giving it a stir now and then. Turn the heat to low and let it gently bubble for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Scatter in the thyme leaves and keep it at a simmer for 10 minutes more, stopping when the mixture has thickened to a spreadable jam texture.
- Take the saucepan off the heat and let the jam cool a little, then spoon it into a lidded jar or container. Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months.
