Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, grapeseed oil, or safflower oil
- Dash of chili pepper flakes
- 25 Brussels sprouts
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of black bean garlic sauce
- Ground black pepper
Directions
- Rinse the Brussels sprouts thoroughly, then trim away the stem ends and remove any loose outer leaves. Cut each sprout into lengthwise quarters.
- Pour the oil into a large skillet, add the chili flakes, and set the pan over medium-high heat.
- Tip the Brussels sprouts into the skillet and cook for about 3-5 minutes, until they start taking on a little color. If the pan looks dry because the sprouts have soaked up the oil, add another 1/2 tablespoon of oil.
- Spoon in the black bean garlic sauce and toss everything together until the sprouts are evenly coated.
- Season with a pinch of ground black pepper. The sauce is already salty, so you probably will not need to add salt.
- Cook for about 30 more seconds, then remove the skillet from the heat and serve right away.
