Ingredients
- 6 slices white Pullman loaf
- 6 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon mustard, optional
- 4 large leaves greenleaf lettuce
- 3 ounces thickly sliced deli turkey
- 6 strips thick-cut bacon, cooked until crisp
- 1 large beefsteak tomatoes, sliced
- Salt and pepper
Directions
- Coat both faces of every bread slice with 4 tablespoons mayonnaise. Working in 2 batches, toast the bread over medium heat for about 5 minutes, flipping once at the midpoint. Move the toasted slices to a cooling rack.
- Spread the remaining mayonnaise and the mustard over 4 slices of bread. For each sandwich, place 1 lettuce leaf on 1 piece of toast spread with the mayo and mustard. Add the turkey, another slice of toast, then the lettuce, bacon, and tomatoes.
- Sprinkle the tomatoes with salt and pepper. Finish with the last bread slices, then anchor each sandwich with 4 toothpicks. Slice each sandwich into quarters. Serve.
