Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 apples, peeled and diced
- Vegetable oil for deep frying
- Cinnamon sugar for coating
Directions
- Bring the oil in your deep-fryer up to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Whisk the egg, milk, vegetable oil, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a medium bowl until combined. Add the flour a little at a time, stirring as you go, until the mixture becomes a thick batter. Gently mix in the diced apples.
- Scoop spoonfuls of the batter into the heated oil, working carefully, and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, until the fritters are nicely browned. Lift them out with a slotted spoon, then transfer them to paper towels to drain.
- Spread the cinnamon sugar in a shallow dish or on a plate. Turn each fritter through the cinnamon sugar until coated all over. Serve while warm.
