Easy Baked Brie in Puff Pastry

Ingredients

  • 1 large sheet of puff pastry dough or 1 tube of refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1 round or wedge of Brie cheese
  • 2 tablespoons raspberry jam, or other sweet jam
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of maple syrup

Directions

  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). If you’d like to remove the top rind, begin with chilled Brie and use a sharp knife to shave away only the thin upper layer. This can help the pastry lift along with the cheese when it’s served, but the rind is edible, so skipping this is perfectly fine.
  2. Set the puff pastry or the crescent roll dough out flat on a lined baking sheet. Put the Brie round or wedge in the center of the dough.
  3. Spoon the jam over the Brie, then bring the dough up and over the cheese, trimming away any extra dough. Pour the maple syrup over the top and scatter the brown sugar over it.
  4. Bake at 350ºF (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
  5. Serve with crackers or apple slices.
