Ingredients
- 1 pan recipe of brownies
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- Red food coloring, optional
- Sprinkles to decorate, optional
Directions
- Prepare your favorite brownie recipe (see note). When the brownies are completely cool, press out heart shapes with a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
- Set the butter in a large bowl or in the bowl of a stand mixer. With an electric hand mixer or a stand mixer, beat it on medium speed until it is softened and easy to work with.
- Add the confectioners sugar and continue beating until the frosting is smooth and evenly mixed.
- Start by frosting brownies with the white frosting, then, if using food coloring, add drops of color and work from the palest shade to the deepest as you frost the remaining brownies.
- Finish with sprinkles, if desired. Store the brownies in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
