Ingredients
- 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 6 slices cheese
- 12 slices deli ham
Directions
- Heat the oven to 400ºF. Add the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder to a large bowl, then stir them together thoroughly.
- Pour in the heavy cream and mix until the dry bits are all damp and the dough gathers into a thick ball.
- Turn the dough out onto a well floured surface. Pat it into a loose rectangle, then use a rolling pin to make it about 8x11 inches and about 1/2-inch thick. Slice the rectangle into 12 pieces.
- Layer 1 slice of cheese and 2 slices of ham on each of 6 biscuit squares. Cover them with the remaining 6 biscuit squares.
- Set the Ham and Cheese Biscuits on a parchment-lined baking sheet, then move the pan to the hot oven. Bake for about 25 minutes, until the tops are golden brown. Serve hot.
