Hello Dolly Bars

Ingredients

  • 16 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups dark or semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups pecans, roughly chopped
  • 3 cups sweetened shredded coconut flake
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk

Directions

  1. Move the oven rack to the center and heat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a bowl, stir the melted butter into the graham cracker crumbs until the mixture is fully blended. Spread it across the bottom of the baking dish and press it into an even layer.
  2. Scatter the chocolate chips over the crust, then add the pecans, and finish with the coconut. Pour the condensed milk evenly over the top. Bake until the exposed edges of the crust look golden and the coconut is starting to brown, about 30 minutes.
  3. Take the dish out of the oven and allow the bars to cool all the way. For cleaner slicing, chill them in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving. Cut into 12 bars. Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, though if your kitchen is warm, the refrigerator is the better place for them.
