hints of fall

One of the most insane things about living in Houston is that when the rest of the world starts drooling over fall clothes -- all those streamlined jackets and luxe cashmere knits -- we are still sweltering in 100+ degree weather for, oh, say, another three months or so.

So, take the title of this post for what it's worth: here in Houston, it's mid-August and there are no hints of fall in sight. But if there were, this leather vest would be the first thing I grab -- as it is, it's mostly useful for battling frigid restaurant-and-office air conditioning systems!

Or... for Fashion Week? Can you believe it's that time again? I swear, it comes earlier every year!

Also, I have to let you guys know -- when I bought this maxi dress, it was full price (boo!) but it's now on sale for 50% off, and still available in almost every size. Unbelievable!
