Matcha and White Chocolate Popcorn

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces white chocolate, in chunks
  • 1/2 teaspoon Japanese matcha green tea
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels, popped
  • Kosher salt

Directions

Put the white chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat it at full power in 10-second bursts, stirring after each round, just until melted. Stir in the matcha until it is fully blended. Tip the popcorn into a large bowl and pour the white chocolate mixture over it while you toss, continuing until the popcorn is evenly covered. Add salt to taste. Chill the popcorn in the refrigerator until the white chocolate coating sets, about 10 minutes. Gently separate any clumps and serve. You can keep the popcorn in a zipper-lock bag in the refrigerator overnight.
