Moroccan Orange Dessert

Ingredients

  • 3-4 oranges
  • 1/4 cup orange flower water
  • 1-2 Tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions

  1. Cut a thin slice from the top and bottom of each orange. Remove the peel along with all of the pith, then slice the fruit crosswise into 1/4 inch rounds.
  2. Pour a small splash of orange flower water into the base of a wide-bottomed glass or plastic container, then place the orange slices over it. If the oranges need to be stacked in more than one layer, add a little more orange flower water over each layer as you build.
  3. Pour in any orange flower water that is left, cover the container, and leave it at room temperature for 1 hour. When you’re ready to serve, lift the oranges from the container and arrange them on a plate. Spoon over a bit of the liquid from the container, then finish the oranges with powdered sugar and cinnamon right before serving.
