Ingredients
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup chopped nuts
Directions
- Set the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Coat an 8x8 inch baking pan with grease.
- Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl, then put it aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs, vanilla extract, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture looks pale and airy.
- Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture a little at a time, stirring only until the batter comes together. Stop there, because extra mixing is not your friend here.
- Gently fold in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips so they’re scattered evenly through the batter.
- Scrape the batter into the greased pan and smooth it out. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick poked into the middle comes out clean. Cool the pan before slicing into bars or squares.
