NYFW: What I Wore, Day Two!

NYFW-OOTD-Day-Two-7-Cropped

Oh, the Cape Coat.

Helping bloggers dress for fashion week since... oh... 2011 or so.

Seriously, the first time I wore this cape coat to Lincoln Center, I made New York Magazine's Best Dressed list... which is sort of a shocker, quite honestly, because those pants did not fit me *at all* and I'm not sure what was going on with the boot-tucking thing. Because the pants are kind of bunched up at the top of my ankle boots... and not in a good way. (Is there a good way for pants to be bunched up at your ankles? My guess is no.)

The cape though: very cute.

So I wore it again next season. Much better... except, oh my gosh, I was *freezing*! The thing about wearing a cape to Fashion Week in New York in February?

If you're not an idiot, you wear something with sleeves underneath it.

But, alas, I am an idiot. So no sleeves.

This season, though. This season I did it right. Maybe it took protecting an unborn child to knock some sense into me... or maybe I've finally gotten the hang of this whole dressing-for-fashion-week thing.

Because this outfit?

This one I'm digging very much.

Zara Cape Coat (similar budget-friendly style here and a gorgeous splurge here), Chanel bag, Express sweater, Forever 21 dress, Samantha Wills necklace, C. Wonder and Gilt bracelets, Jimmy Choo pumps.
