Ingredients
- 6 1/2 cups rice krispies cereal
- 2 cups Kettle Brand Sea Salt Kettle Chips, crushed to smaller pieces
- 1 1/2 cups broken pretzel sticks
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 bag large or mini marshmallows
- 12 oz. milk chocolate chips or chocolate melts
- Multi-color sprinkles, optional
Directions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice krispies cereal, kettle chips, and pretzels, then leave the bowl nearby. Coat a 13 by 9-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and keep it ready.
- Set a non-stick pot over medium-low heat and melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir without wandering off until they are melted. Take the pot off the heat.
- Tip the rice krispies cereal mixture into the marshmallow mixture. Using a spatula, gently fold and toss until everything is coated, then transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
- Mist a spatula with non-stick cooking spray. Use it to spread the mixture through the pan and press it lightly into an even layer.
- Put the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and warm it at 50% power in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until it is melted and smooth.
- Pour the melted chocolate onto the rice krispie treats and smooth it evenly across the top. Scatter sprinkles over the chocolate, if using.
- Let the chocolate set in the refrigerator, then bring the treats back to room temperature to rest so they are not cold. Cut into squares and keep them at room temperature in an airtight container.
