Ingredients
- 1/4 cup salted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
Directions
- Heat the oven to 300 degrees. Coat a 8 by 4-inch bread pan with non-stick baking spray; skip the 9 by 5, since the brownies will bake up too thin in that size.
- Put the butter in a microwave safe bowl and microwave it until it is about 2/3 melted, about 25 seconds. Stir in the sugar until the remaining butter melts completely, then blend in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Add the flour and cocoa powder, and stir only until the batter comes together. Transfer it to the prepared pan and smooth it out evenly.
- Bake in the heated oven until the brownies are set, about 20 minutes.
- For a deeper chocolate version, swap the balance to 1/4 cup cocoa powder and 3 Tbsp flour. Choose the version that matches the brownie you want.
