Southwest Ranch Dipping Sauce
A creamy Southwest ranch dip with smoky spices, herbs and citrus, made for chips, vegetables, fries or anything that wants a little kick.
Prep 5 min · Makes about 1 1/2 cups

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon dried chives
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/16 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 – 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt, adjust to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon finely cracked pepper, adjust to taste
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice
Directions
- In a bowl, whisk the mayonnaise with the sour cream until the mixture is completely smooth. Sprinkle in the spices and whisk again until everything is evenly blended. Stir in the lemon juice, taste, and tweak the seasoning as needed. Refrigerate until you are ready to serve. If you are preparing it ahead, remember that the warmth from the spices will build a bit overnight.
- For a shortcut, use what you already have: mix 1 cup of refrigerated ranch dip with 1-2 tablespoons of Mexican spices. Taste and adjust the heat to suit you.
