- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs

- 1 recipe Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting, recipe follows
- 5 oz cream cheese, softened
- 3 Tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
Directions
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees F. In one mixing bowl, whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt together, then put that bowl aside.
- In another mixing bowl, use a wooden spoon to stir the granulated sugar, light-brown sugar and melted butter until combined. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until everything looks blended.
- Stir in half of the flour mixture, mixing only until it comes together. Add the milk and mix just until incorporated, then fold in the remaining flour mixture, again stopping as soon as it is combined. The batter will be very thick.
- Transfer the batter to a buttered 8x8 baking dish, smoothing it into an even layer. Bake in the heated oven for 40 – 45 minutes, until the center is almost set.
- Cool the brownies completely, then cover them with Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting and cut into squares. Store them in an airtight container.
