Baby Bump, Week 15

I'm already a little bit behind with these updates, so I may have to combine two weeks at some point to get back on track! There's been so much going on lately -- it's such an exciting time, but it's also a little overwhelming! Every time I think about some long-term plan, there's a little part of my brain that thinks, "well, after April..."
It's crazy to think that our lives are going to change in this incredibly drastic, permanent way, and that we can see it coming months away but can't really do much to prepare for it or make it any easier! I find myself reading all these baby sleep books and thinking, ok, this is great, I'll know exactly what I'm doing by the time the baby comes... but I wont, obviously. I'm sure every book and article and piece of advice will go flying out the window the second there's a crying baby in my lap, and the thought of it is a little terrifying!
But I guess the way you get around those fears is by preparing, right? I've been getting started on the nursery this week, which is really exciting -- we have the paint color picked out and some of the pieces settled! I know I'm probably doing all of this way too soon, but too much preparation never hurt anyone, did it?
My bump has kind of stayed the same for the last few weeks -- it's getting a tiny bit bigger but no one really notices it unless I'm wearing something tight! I couldn't resist pairing the polka dots with some of my favorite fall pieces from Mark. -- how gorgeous is this statement necklace? It's actually really light, too, which is amazing!
Mark. Go For Baroque necklace and In Black and White bracelet, Forever 21 dress.

How far along? 15 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss:
Maternity clothes? Pants, for sure. I have one pair of shorts that still fits, but otherwise I'm in maternity pants or regular jeans with the BellaBand.
Stretch marks? None yet. As my bump gets bigger, I'm getting better about using stretch mark oil most nights.
Symptoms: Not many! Hunger, maybe? The other day, I ate a fairly normal amount of food throughout the day, and wanted to cry from hunger by the time dinner rolled around. Some days it's not that bad though!
Sleep: Getting worse. I think what everyone else calls "First Trimester Exhaustion" was, for me, more like "Cure for Insomnia, YAY!" Now I'm basically back to my old energy levels and sleep is a lot tougher... and I know it's only going to get worse!
Best moment this week: Work-related -- I'm starting to pick up a bunch of cases in my law practice, and it is so incredibly exciting! Quitting my very stable law firm job and finding out I was pregnant two weeks later was definitely a little terrifying, but now that I'm in the groove, it feels like the timing was actually pretty great. I kind of have my dream job now!
Worst moment of the week: Picking out nursery stuff is stressful! There are so many choices and everything looks kind of the same, and I want to get the baby the best of everything, but also don't really want to spend a thousand dollars on a crib, you know? I'm trying to splurge on the things that matter -- the baby store we went to almost talked me into making custom bumpers for the crib, and there were a zillion choices and the fabrics were all so pretty that it was kind of tempting! Then I left the store and realized that 1) bumpers probably won't get used for the first YEAR of the baby's life because of SIDS concerns, and 2) of all the places to spend money on the nursery, splurging on literally the most useless item is just plain stupid.
