Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground sausage
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 cups biscuit mix, such as Bisquick
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Heat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, combine the biscuit mix, Parmesan cheese, melted butter, salt and pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder, stirring until everything is evenly distributed. Add the milk and mix just until it comes together. Spoon the biscuit mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Set a large skillet over medium heat and cook the sausage until it is browned throughout, breaking it up as it cooks. If there is excess fat in the pan, drain it off. Sprinkle in the flour and stir it into the sausage, then cook for 1 minute more. Add 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup, stir, and bring the mixture to a simmer. Turn the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes, until thickened. Pour the sausage mixture over the biscuit layer in the baking dish.
- Bake in the heated oven for 25 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the center is set. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
