Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 Tbsp half and half, then more as needed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Scatter the flour in an even layer over a rimmed 18 by 13-inch baking sheet, then bake it for 5 minutes. Take it out of the oven and let it cool completely.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer with the paddle attachment, beat the butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and salt together until the mixture looks light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Mix in the half and half and vanilla extract. Add the flour and blend only until it disappears into the dough.
- If the dough needs a little help coming together, add more half and half, 1/2 Tbsp at a time. Fold in the chopped chocolate chips, reserving some if you’d like to press them onto the tops after shaping.
- Scoop out the dough in portions of about 1 tablespoon each, then roll them into balls. Set the bites on parchment paper.
- Serve right away, or transfer the cookie dough bites to an airtight container and refrigerate.
