Ingredients
- 2 large apples, peeled and diced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 refrigerated pie crusts
- 1 egg white, lightly beaten
Directions
- Heat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C), then grease a baking sheet.
- Lay 1 pie crust out on the greased baking sheet.
- In a medium bowl, stir the melted butter, flour, cinnamon, and sugar until the mixture comes together. Add the diced apples and toss until they are coated all over. Pile the apple mixture in the middle of the pie crust, keeping about 1 inch clear around the border.
- Place the remaining pie crust over the apples, then press the edges firmly together to close the filling inside. Make several cuts in the top crust so steam can vent as it bakes. Brush the top lightly with the egg white.
- Bake until the crust is golden brown on both the top and bottom, 25 minutes. Let it cool before serving.
