Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs sirloin steak, fat trimmed, diced into cubes just under 1-inch
- 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp honey
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 Tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
- Green onions or sesame seeds, for garnish, optional
Directions
- Add the steak pieces to a gallon size resealable bag. In a mixing bowl, whisk the soy sauce, honey and garlic until smooth, then pour it over the steak. Close the bag, pressing out the extra air as you seal it, and massage the marinade around the meat. Move the bag to the refrigerator for 1 – 2 hours.
- Warm 1 Tbsp oil in a heavy non-stick skillet set over medium-high heat. Lift half of the steak out of the marinade and place it in the skillet with space between the pieces. Sear until the undersides are nicely browned, about 1 minute, then turn the pieces over.
- Cook the steak to your preferred doneness, about 1 minute longer, with 145 degrees as the internal safe temperature. Transfer the cooked steak to a plate, then cook the remaining steak the same way. Serve warm, adding green onions or sesame seeds if you’d like.
