Ingredients
- 12 oz bag fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 med orange
- 1 med lime
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Directions
- Add the 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water to a medium pot. Set it over medium heat and warm, stirring as needed, until the sugar melts into the water, about 1 minute.
- Wash the cranberries, then tip them into the pot. Cover the pot, raise the heat enough to bring it to a simmer, and cook until the cranberries burst. While that is happening, zest the orange and lime.
- After the cranberries have popped, stir in the red wine, cinnamon, orange zest, orange juice, and lime zest. Leave the lid off and simmer until the sauce reduces and thickens, 20-30 minutes. Cool it a bit before serving.
