Ingredients
- 20-25 medium radishes, washed, trimmed and cut into fourths or halves, same-size pieces
- 1 1/2 T roasted peanut oil
- 1 1/2 T soy sauce
- 1 tsp. toasted sesame oil
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 2-3 tsp. black sesame seeds
Directions
- Heat the oven to 425 F.
- Rinse the radishes well, cut off the ends, and halve or quarter them so the pieces are roughly the same size.
- Coat a large baking sheet with non-stick spray. Add the radishes, brush them all over with the peanut oil, and turn them so the cut sides face down for better browning.
- Roast for about 20 minutes, tossing them 1 or 2 times as they cook.
- As the radishes roast, prepare the green onions, measure out the sesame seeds, and toast the seeds if they need it.
- If you’re adding the toasted sesame oil, stir it together with the soy sauce, using gluten-free soy sauce if needed, in the bowl that held the peanut oil.
- Once the radishes are soft and beginning to brown, take them out of the oven. Brush them with the soy sauce or soy-sesame oil mixture, then scatter the sliced green onions over the top.
- Return the pan to the oven and cook for about 5-7 minutes longer.
- Finish the hot radishes with black sesame seeds and serve right away. A little Sriracha Rooster Sauce would be a good addition for anyone who likes spicy Asian flavors.
