room makeover!

December 11th, 2012

Every time that people come over to our house, I feel the need to explain that it’s a work in progress! We’ve been working on the downstairs almost since we moved in, but up until two weeks ago, the upstairs had this pretty, open landing at the top of our stairs… that was completely empty.

But I had a feeling that we could get a lot of use out of this space if it could just be cozy and comfortable! It’s basically a family room — centrally located in our house, and perfect for watching TV, lounging, or editing photos on my laptop!

So when I was picking furniture, comfort was key! I wanted a couch that would really fit our lifestyle over the next few years — comfortable, durable, and, of course, stylish! This La-Z-Boy sofa and ottoman were completely perfect — I fell in love the moment I saw them!

I broke up the caramel color of the couch with some turquoise and white accents — a little bit of color and texture make any room more fun! We’ve spent so much time in here since this room makeover — definitely 100% a success!

Gifted La-Z-Boy Griffin sectional and Luca ottoman, pillows and horse head from High Fashion Home, throw blankets from Z Gallerie and Pottery Barn.

PS: Don’t worry — coco loves the couch too, she was just sleepy in my photo!

Where did that horse head come from?!

I know some people who would love it!

It’s from a store in Houston called High Fashion Home!  I don’t see it on their website, but you may be able to call — I know they had at least one more in stock when I bought it a few weeks ago!  It was $225, so pretty reasonable!
