- 1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 12 oz fresh raspberries )
- 11 oz fresh blueberries )
- 6 oz fresh blackberries )
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp cornstarch
Directions
- Set your oven for 375 degrees. Coat a 9 by 9-inch or 11 by 7-inch baking dish with butter.
- Make the crumble first: in a mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon and salt with a whisk.
- Drop in the butter, then work it through with a pastry cutter, a fork, or your fingertips until you have a rough, crumbly mixture. Put the bowl in the refrigerator.
- For the filling, rinse the berries and leave them to drain, without drying them off. Move them into the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, whisk the sugar with the cornstarch. Scatter that mixture over the berries, then gently toss until the fruit is coated throughout.
- Take the crumble out of the refrigerator and spread it evenly across the berries.
- Bake until the fruit juices are bubbling and the top is browned and crisp, about 30 – 35 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
